JupyterLab Unianalytics is a tool that is being developed with the aim of enhancing the interaction between users while they are working on Jupyter Notebooks.

JupyterLab is an open-source development environment that provides an interface to work with Jupyter Notebooks. Notebooks are very popular among data scientists, researchers, and in the field of education due to their interactive nature and the ability to combine code, text, and multimedia into a single document. Particularly in the field of education, it has become a global standard due to its convenience for exercise sessions and assessments. This is largely attributed to its ability to integrate instructions and tasks seamlessly within the same executable environment.

Our tool JupyterLab Unianalytics is built on top of the JupyterLab interface and can be used by any group of people willing to get a better insight on how the group is behaving during an exercise session. The tool comes as a simple package for the users to install in their environment. It also requires the use of an external server to process, organize and display the data. The server can either be self-hosted as a one-click solution or made available through our own infrastructure.
